finally

… and so is my motivation.
Sunshine all day and I have finally started working on my new project Not Quite Berlin.
I want to talk about my discoveries, introduce you to the places I love and share my favorite addresses in Berlin.

Today I went for a little walk to shoot my first pictures.
Starting with my all time favorite Cafe Liebling at the Helmholzplatz in Prenzlauer Berg. On the corner of Dunker-/Raumerstrasse I always find the perfect coffee moment plus a great selection of magazines.

Saddle up!

Horses and Hermes is a dream come true for all the horse lovers with style. I’ve found it all at the stable of Château de la Resle. Facing so much passion for this giant animals totally melted my hippophobic heart.
I’m gonna saddle up and canter into the French orange sunset. Allez hop!

The perfect Saturday morning: a long walk down memory lane with my good old friend Caroline and her lovely mum having breakfast at the cozy Restaurant Pasternak in Berlin.

What does it take to make your Saturday morning a really good one?

Greetings from Palais Royal in Paris! I’m amazed and inspired by the freshly cleaned up facade and arcades. Lovely contrast and colors! I guess I need to clean and light up too. Who else is ready for a clean facade?

happy gardening

My latest discovery has been the lovely urban garden project “Prinzessinnengärten” in Berlin Kreuzberg.
A very green and innovative connection of urban life and organic vegetable farming. You can chill out, have a coffee and harvest your dinner. Perfect!

I’m ready to go – today they’re hosting a flea market with life music and the sun is shining.

hotel lulu

Spending time in Brittany has been very relaxing and full of surprises. After some days in the outback, I was so ready for a little shopping tour in Pont-Aven. There was not much going on. A couple of antique stores and some tourist shops. Just before my good mood turned bad, I have made a great discovery on the 1st floor of Chocolaterie Larnicol. Hôtel Lulu, an amazing vintage shop packed with lovely details, jewelery and great outfits. So unexpected and so pretty. Unfortunately this place is not a hotel, but I like the idea of it. If you are in the area and you want to get the look of Coco Chanel or Audrey Hepburn, then this is the place to be!

la mâtine

Are you ready for a relaxing time out in Brittany, France? There is no better place than “La Matine”.
This little chambre d’hotes has been carefully renovated and decorated by the lovely ceramist Colette and her charming husband. The couple knows how to spoil their guests with a great breakfast, homemade jam and delicious crêpe. Make sure you have a glance at Colette’s ceramic atelier. She is doing beautiful outdoor accessories and pottery decorated with her own poems. I’ve been there in June just before the high season started. It’s so quiet and peaceful.  A romantic stroll along the cliff is a “must do” before you go to bed. Enjoy the dramatic sunset. Bon nuit!

surprise surprise

La Surprise is a very cute and charming boutique bed & breakfast, hidden in the mountains of Grasse at Côte d’Azur, France. It has been almost a year ago that I have spend some very relaxing days at La Surprise. The hosts of this mini paradise are Steve and Claire from England. Claire is the queen of decoration and she truly knows how to make an amazing breakfast. Steve is the one who knows all the fun places and stories about the area and its people. They even made a little travel book with all kind of tips and ideas about the area. Love it!

high season

Summer is a great season, when you have time to enjoy it. In my case, I don’t. Too busy to leave the city and too rainy to get excited about anything. So I keep dreaming about my last trip to Côte d’Azur, South France. While I was looking through my old travel photos, I thought it would be fun to post this week some of my favorite Bread & Breakfast places. For everyone who doesn’t know where to hang out the rest of the summer, stay tuned! …and I keep dreaming.

summer in paris

Empty streets, closed shops and “jeu de boules” in the park. This is Paris during August – it’s all yours!
